8th semester

So we're down to the final countown, less than three months till we graduate! (scary thought) We've been getting more professional with our projects this semester...you know..preparing us for the REAL WORLD. Here are two projects I did so far this semester that I have to say I'm really proud of. Hope you like them!

1- mock book cover for "Your Evil Twin", a book covering the identity theft "epidemic"
2- mock advertisement for new fall line of M.A.C. cosmetics
both are done in pen and ink, then completed in photoshop.

P.S. I live on photoshop. It's sad.

Blogging is melting my brain

but thats ok, because I don't have much of a brain anyway. As long as I can still draw and play the drums...all is well!

Uncle Sal

I think im getting tired of in-depth descriptions..hows this?
1-"Sleep Paralysis"-pen and ink, photoshop
2-"Tancredi" book cover-pencil,photoshop

;) short and sweet

Drrrrrop it Like it's hot

Unfortunately this demo for my band, Drop it Jeffrey, is probably never going to happen. But it was a good excuse for an art project! We had the opportunity to do a "dream project" so this gave me the time to finally do what I wanted to do. It's a design and layout for a cd wallet. Now we just need our CD to be done so I can get this printed! Anyway, I really enjoy being in a band on the side because its a huge stress reliever. It also gives me opportunies to do some cool artwork...as I've said before. I also did the design for our latest tee shirts. I posted the sample pictures I put together of the shirts modeled by the famous Jon Degen. I know this page is for my art work...buttt If you'd like to check out my band..you can go to www.myspace.com/dropitjeffrey or www.dropitjeffrey.com . Lastly..I know that drop it jeffrey is the worst band name ever. you don't have to tell me.

Gouache Resist?

Last semester I had a really awesome class where i learned some cool techniques. This one is a gouache resist (for all who dont know, the white parts are painted with guache and then the entire page is painted with black india ink. when its dry, you wash it off and black erases from the parts where you painted the gouache! It's just like magic! except not. ) anyway...it was fun. And if you haven't seen "The Shining", I don't know what else to say. ;)

How exciting!

Woohoo!!! So finally found a way to work that i really enjoy, so I started doing most of my projects like this. I guess I started doing it the summer before my 7th semester. Better late than never! Here are a few of the first ones I did in this style, just for the hell of it. For the first picture, I inculded the drawing I did before I scanned it in. Basically all of them are scanned-in pen and ink drawings that i went crazy with on photoshop!!

Older Stuff

Although in the past 2 years or so I've developed a style that I kind of really like...I wanted to put up some things that I did in my earlier FIT years. The first one is a scratchboard I did of a Dracula scene. The next one was a little different..I tried collage on photoshop and I really enjoyed it. Im pretty sure this was for an article about Trump complaining that he works too hard. Can ya tell? Next we have one of my favorite paintings I ever did. I do not paint that often. But this was an oil painting for my class taught by the great and powerful Kam Mak. This piece was supposed to portay emotion. So I painted a good friend of mine, screaming out his emotions into a microphone at a concert! I'm pretty sure he likes the way it came out ;) The last was a project I did in guache. I guess It was supposed to be anything on the topic of life, and perception? Something like that. Oh well..enjoy.

another version..

Incase anyone cares...this is the first version I did of the self portait..I don't like it as much as the first one, but it's still kinda nice. It just goes to show how difficult it can be to choose colors on photoshop! There's endless possibilities.
